    Executive discussion around how to Create New Account and Contributor role have resulted in some decisions and technical committee tasks:
    1) Login should be distinct from Create an Account on homepage. All new user accounts will now be ‘Contributor’ accounts
    — Please separate Create New Account and Login on homepage
    — Please rename Create New Account –> Become/Create a Contributor Account
    — Please advise on permission settings. Contributors should only be able to upload content to the training portal

    2) It is currently unclear what happens when one tries to Create New Account. Presumably this is the source of emails that Fran receives for approval.
    — Please confirm path/logic around Create New Account

    3) Insufficient information is captured and passed on to approver when one Create New Account (now Become/Create a Contributor Account)
    — Move Personal Information box to above user name and user email, and make mandatory as follows: Personal Information = Name, Surname, Username, User email address. Remove phone number requirement from Personal Information box.
    — Make all Affiliation content mandatory and relabel as follows: Affiliation field = Institution/Organization/Society Name, Institution/Organization/Society website
    — In Training Experience box, make all fields mandatory and relabel as follows: Training Experience = “Describe your past, present and future activities in bioinformatics education.”, Bioinformatics Topics, Audiences
    — Remove biography section
    — Verification section remains
    — Remove EDAM-topic section
    — All of the above mandatory information should be saved and passed on to the new account approver, Fran
    — Submission button should read: “Create New Contributor Account”

    4) User Type categories on Create New Account (now Become/Create a Contributor Account) page need definitions.
    — Trainer, Organizer and Trainee require hover over or clickable question marks, which will contain definitions of each. Terri will provide these text.

    5) It is unclear what the automated responses are for Create New Account and for Approval of New Account
    — There should be automated emails sent to the new user when a new account is requested and when a new account is approved.
    — Please set up these automated emails. Fran will provide these text.

    6) New text will be added to the top of this Become/Create a Contributor Account page, explaining what a contributor can do.
    — Please add a text field at the top of the reconfigured Become/Create a Contributor Account page

    All the different requested tasks have been completed. There are only some comments to add:
    — Please confirm path/logic around Create New Account
    Currently, when one visitor registers a new user into the system , we send to the new user (and the admins) some automatic emails:
    – Welcome (awaiting approval): One message is sent to the user after he registers to inform him about
    that his account is awaiting to be approved by the admins.
    – Warning to the admins: One message is sent to Fran to approve (or reject) that new user.
    – Account activation: Another message sent to the user when the admin approves the account, with the link
    to set the password and do login.
    If one admin creates a new user using the form:

    The first two messages are not necessary, and the admin can choose to send to the new user one email with the information about the new account.
    — Make all Affiliation content mandatory and relabel as follows: Affiliation
    field = Institution/Organization/Society Name, Institution/Organization/Society website
    These fields have been kept and updated, but in the user’s profile this information have been included into ‘Initial registered affiliation’ area. We’ve to add that information to a new one affiliation (with all its data: address, logo, etc.) if it’s the case.
    However, user will be able to add preexistent affiliations to his profile.
    — All of the above mandatory information should be saved and passed on to the new account approver, Fran.
    Included information: name, surname, username, user’s email, address, ‘Initial registered affiliation’ data, bioinformatics topics, audiences.
    This will be checked by Fran when she receives the first email.
